Job Description
- Reviewing medical records to determine the appropriate level of service provided during the outpatient visit.
- Assigning accurate and appropriate CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes to services rendered.
- Ensuring compliance with coding guidelines, policies, and regulations.
- Communicating with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding.
- Participating in audits and quality control processes to ensure accurate coding practices.
- Identifying coding errors and working with billing and coding staff to resolve issues.
- Staying up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines, policies, and regulations.
